1. Fees & Pricing
Website Pricing Advisory
All prices displayed on this website are provided for guidance purposes only and are subject to change without prior notice. Whilst we endeavour to keep our website pricing accurate and up to date, our published rates are reviewed and updated on a regular basis — the price shown at the time of browsing may not reflect the current rate at the time of booking.
The confirmed price for your lessons or course will always be communicated to you directly at the time of booking, and this is the price that applies. If there is any discrepancy between the website price and the price quoted to you directly, the quoted price takes precedence.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and recommend contacting us directly to confirm current pricing before booking.
General Pricing
Lesson and course fees will be confirmed at the time of booking. Fees may be reviewed from time to time; where a change affects an existing booking, we will give reasonable notice before any increase takes effect.
Any promotional offers or discounted rates may be subject to additional conditions, which will be explained at the time of booking.
2. Payments & Block Bookings
Advance Payment
Payment is required in advance to secure your lesson or course slot. Your booking is not considered confirmed until payment has been received.
Drive N Learn instructors reserve dedicated time in their diary for each pupil. Advance payment allows us to manage this effectively and ensures your slot is held exclusively for you.
Block Booking Refunds
Where a discounted block booking or lesson bundle has been purchased and the pupil decides to discontinue lessons before all prepaid hours have been used, any refund due will be calculated by charging lessons already taken at the standard pay-as-you-go hourly rate applicable at the time the block booking was purchased — not at the discounted bundle rate.
Any remaining balance after this calculation will then be refunded, subject to the cancellation policy and any outstanding charges.
Driving Licence
Lessons can only be provided where the pupil holds a valid and appropriate driving licence which permits them to drive the tuition vehicle. You must inform your instructor immediately of any changes to your driving licence or legal entitlement to drive, including endorsements, disqualifications or restrictions received during the period of tuition.
3. Cancellations & Changes
You must give a minimum of 48 hours' notice if you wish to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Where less than 48 hours' notice is given, the full lesson fee will remain payable. Where the lesson has been prepaid, the corresponding time will be deducted from your prepaid balance.
If you repeatedly cancel or rearrange lessons at short notice, we may require full payment in advance before accepting further bookings.
We understand that genuine emergencies arise. However, excessive or repeated cancellations, frequent changes to agreed lesson times, or extended gaps between lessons can disrupt your progress and our instructors' schedules. Where this becomes an ongoing issue, we reserve the right to discuss alternative arrangements or, where necessary, discontinue future lessons. Any decision will take into account the individual circumstances and the pattern of missed or cancelled lessons.
4. Lesson Bookings & Pickup Locations
Drive N Learn offers door-to-door pickup within our operating areas. Your pickup and finishing location should be agreed at the time of booking.
If you wish to change your agreed pickup or finishing location, please give as much notice as possible. Where a different location results in additional travel time, this time will form part of your booked lesson — your practical driving time may therefore be reduced accordingly to ensure the instructor can meet their next commitment on time.
We may be unable to accommodate a change of location at short notice or where the requested location falls outside our normal operating area.
5. Practical Driving Tests
Pupils are responsible for booking and managing their own practical driving test through the official GOV.UK service. Drive N Learn and your instructor cannot book a practical driving test on your behalf.
Before booking your test, you should speak to your instructor to confirm:
- That you are likely to be ready by the proposed date
- The test centre you intend to use
- That your instructor and tuition vehicle will be available on that date
Booking a practical driving test does not guarantee the use of the instructor's tuition vehicle.
6. Use of Tuition Vehicle
Drive N Learn instructors reserve the right to refuse or withdraw the use of their tuition vehicle for a lesson or practical driving test where they reasonably consider it necessary. This may include circumstances where:
- The pupil's driving standard is considered below the level required to safely attend a test
- Progress has been affected by missed, cancelled or insufficient lessons leading up to the test
- The pupil appears unwell, excessively tired, or otherwise unfit to drive safely
- There is reasonable suspicion that the pupil may be under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication that could impair driving ability
- The pupil does not hold a valid driving licence or cannot meet insurance requirements
- Outstanding fees remain unpaid
- The vehicle is unavailable due to mechanical failure, accident or circumstances outside the instructor's reasonable control
Your instructor will discuss any concerns regarding test readiness with you and, where appropriate, may recommend a mock test or that the test date be moved. The final decision regarding vehicle availability for a practical driving test rests with the instructor.
Test Day Fees
Test day fees may differ from the standard lesson rate and will be agreed with your instructor in advance. The test day fee typically covers a pre-test warm-up session, travel to and from the test centre, use of the tuition vehicle during the test, waiting time during the test, and a post-test debrief.
Payment may be required in advance to secure the instructor and vehicle for the agreed test date.
Vehicle or Instructor Unavailability
Drive N Learn will not be liable for reasonable losses or expenses arising from circumstances outside its reasonable control, including vehicle breakdown, accident, illness, or other unforeseen circumstances that prevent a lesson or test from proceeding. Where a lesson cannot take place due to circumstances attributable to the instructor, every reasonable effort will be made to rearrange it.
If a test cannot proceed due to circumstances attributable to the pupil — for example, booking the wrong date, failing to bring required documentation, or otherwise not meeting DVSA requirements — the agreed test day charge will remain payable.
7. Vehicle Damage
Pupils are expected to treat the tuition vehicle with reasonable care and to follow any reasonable instructions given by the instructor regarding its safe operation.
Where damage is caused as a direct result of a pupil's deliberate action, negligence, misuse or failure to follow a reasonable instruction, the pupil may be held responsible for the reasonable cost of repair. This may include:
- Tyre or wheel damage, including alloy damage caused by striking or mounting a kerb
- Bodywork, mirror or external damage
- Interior, control or equipment damage
Pupils will not normally be held responsible for fair wear and tear, mechanical failure, pre-existing damage, or damage arising from circumstances reasonably outside their control. Each incident will be considered individually, taking into account the pupil's level of experience, any instructions or intervention provided by the instructor, and applicable insurance arrangements.
8. Gift Vouchers
Drive N Learn gift vouchers are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase, unless otherwise stated on the voucher. Once the recipient has commenced their first lesson, they will have a further 6 months from the date of that first lesson to use any remaining credit.
Gift vouchers are subject to instructor availability and do not guarantee a particular instructor, lesson time, vehicle type or test date.
9. Complaints
Drive N Learn takes complaints seriously and aims to deal with all concerns fairly, professionally and as quickly as reasonably possible.
Where possible, please first raise any concern directly with your instructor, as many issues can be resolved quickly through open communication. If the matter cannot be resolved directly, or you do not feel comfortable raising it with your instructor, a formal complaint may be submitted to Drive N Learn in writing by email.
Please include your name, your instructor's name, the details of your complaint, relevant dates and any steps already taken to resolve the matter. We will review the complaint and, where appropriate, discuss it with both parties with the aim of reaching a fair resolution.
Nothing within this complaints procedure affects your statutory rights.
10. Privacy & Data
Personal information collected during booking and tuition is used solely for the purpose of administering your lessons and communicating with you. We handle your data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation. For full details please contact us directly.
11. Acceptance of These Terms
By booking lessons or a course with Drive N Learn — whether online, by phone or in person — you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
Drive N Learn reserves the right to update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page.
